Birthday gift
Had an excellent meal at slug and lettuce in Nottingham market square. Our server was brilliant and so friendly and helpful …definitely be returning.

We went to York and the Food was lovely, set menu has good choices, the service was really good and attentive, I read some negative feedback prior to going but have to say - we have no idea why - for us it was really lovely

MEAL FOR 2
Was not overly impressed at this venue. The starters were ok but disappointed with my main meal... Smothered chicken came out on a plate half filled with peas and a separate portion of chips, would have been nice to have a bit of colour on the plate i.e. tomato, mushrooms etc !!
Much better eateries out there will not be visiting again

1 Star – Horrible food & atrocious service.
If I could give zero stars, I would.
We used a voucher and the experience was appalling from start to finish. The menu choices were extremely limited and basic. After waiting 45 minutes, our food finally arrived stone cold.
When we sent it back, they simply reheated the same plates, returning the food bone dry, overcooked, and completely ruined. I could only manage a couple of mouthfuls—it was so bad it left me feeling physically sick.
When we raised this, three separate members of staff completely ignored our concerns with pure apathy. Before leaving, we asked to speak to a manager. A young guy stepped forward claiming to be the manager, but his attitude was unbelievable. When asked directly if he actually cared about our experience, he literally just smiled at us.
This is a drinkers' pub, not a food venue, and they clearly have no standards for basic customer care. Completely ruined our day out. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent, seamless
I booked a meal in Manchester and the waiter said there was no reason to show the voucher since they had it already as part of the booking. We had a choice of any starter, any main from two sections of the menu and any drink. We had no extras and checked that we could just leave when finished, which we did. No restrictions except some pricier mains were exclude but that still left plenty of choice.
