SSI Try Scuba Introduction Course for Two with Fins Outdoors

Bring curiosity beneath the surface with this SSI Try Scuba session for two at Fins Outdoors. Created for first-time divers, this introductory experience includes a full briefing, eLearning and a supervised in-water session with an SSI professional instructor. Breathing underwater, learning basic scuba skills and gaining an SSI Try Scuba recognition card each make this a practical first step into recreational diving.

What do I need to know?

• Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
• Your voucher is valid for two people
• Available Wednesday evenings only, excluding mid-December to mid-February. Please contact the venue to confirm availability and operating dates
• Minimum age: 8 years. Under 18s will need a parent or guardian present
• Please allow two hours for this experience. Pool sessions run from 7.45pm–9.10pm. Your SSI instructor will meet you at the pool at 7pm
• Comfort in the water, basic swimming skills and a completed medical questionnaire are required before taking part
• The SSI Try Scuba forms and Responsible Diver Code must be completed before taking part. Physician approval and medical assessment may be required before taking part if any medical screening question is answered “yes”. Failure to complete the required SSI documentation accurately and honestly may result in refusal of participation for safety reasons
• Good physical and mental health is required. Anyone who is unwell, experiencing symptoms of illness or may have a contagious condition should not take part; the instructor may refuse participation due to health, safety or wellbeing concerns. If a participant has any concerns regarding their fitness to dive, they should consult a qualified physician prior to the activity
• Participants will be closely supervised and monitored to ensure safety, comfort and enjoyment throughout the session
• This is a recognition programme, not a formal certification
• Disability access is limited; accessible parking is available, but some areas are not fully wheelchair accessible and there are no dedicated adapted changing facilities by the pool – please check suitability and possible adjustments before booking. Participants with mobility, accessibility, or additional support requirements are encouraged to contact the venue prior to booking to discuss adjustments. The swimming pool facility has limited accessibility for wheelchair users; pool entry is via standard poolside steps or ladders and there are no dedicated adapted changing facilities adjacent to the pool area
• Cancellations or reschedule requests made more than seven days before the session may be accommodated, subject to availability, but are not guaranteed; requests within seven days, no-shows or late arrivals that miss essential safety briefings may result in voucher forfeiture. If the supplier cancels a session, an alternative date will be offered
• Advance booking is required
• A towel and appropriate swimwear are required
• All dates are subject to availability
