We stayed in our treehouse for two nights and it was truly amazing. Our three and five-year old daughters were so excited about staying up in the treetops and they certainly weren’t disappointed. The weekend more than lived up to all of our expectations.
The whole booking process ran very smoothly, with regular updates and reminders and plenty of information about what we’d need to bring and directions on how to get there. On arrival, we received such a warm welcome; it was lovely. We were given instructions on how to get to our treehouse, plenty more info about our home for the weekend and its surroundings, and reassurance that they were just a phone call away if we needed anything.
There are six treehouses on site but you really wouldn’t know; they are each in their own direction and totally hidden away in the trees. We felt happily secluded, safe and secure. The treehouse itself was an amazing structure. The wooden staircase and rope bridge to access it made for a real adventure for the girls. And they were particularly impressed with the rope swing just below and the ‘lookout’ they could walk up to, just above. Perhaps less so with the Swedish compost toilet, but it certainly added to the whole experience!
Without electricity, the treehouse is a lovely escape. Twinkly lights, tealights and lanterns created a relaxing, peaceful ambience, and the wood fired stove kept us toasty and heated the cute outdoor shower. The treehouse was cosy yet spacious and had everything we needed; a double bed, bunk beds, table and seating area, makeshift outdoor fridge and plenty of kitchen equipment that allowed us to create a delicious pasta meal on the stove and hotdogs for the kids.
There were a few books and games on the shelves as well as leaflets and fantastic hand-drawn maps of local walks and places to go. We followed their ‘Famous Mountain and Sea, Driving Tour’ and had a wonderful day.
This Experience is certainly one we’d recommend and do again ourselves!
