Overview
Flying in a helicopter is one thing, but piloting one is quite another! This helicopter package has been carefully put together to set you on your way in the world of helicopter piloting. You will not just learn how to physically fly the aircraft, but all aspects needed to be a successful pilot. Your fully qualified instructor will run through a safety briefing and talk you through some of the flight theory. Once in the helicopter you will spend 20 minutes in the air, split into three sessions, where you will learn observation skills, how to navigate and flying respectively. You will then take part in an exciting hover challenge to test the skills you have learned, whilst your friends and family are welcome to take pictures of you in action. Once complete you will be presented with a signed flight certificate which can go towards you gaining your private pilot’s licence.
What's included?
- 20 minute helicopter pilot lesson for one person (experience lasts 45 minutes overall)
- Your 20-minute flight will be split in to three short sessions lasting 6/7 minutes each – two observation sessions and a hands-on flight with a hover challenge
- Signed flight certificate to go towards a private pilot’s licence
What do I need to know?
- All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences
- This experience is available on selected weekend dates only
- Minimum age is 12 years; under 18s must be accompanied by a fully paying adult. Under 18s accompanying parent(s) will not be required to pay any fee, unless they also are participating in the experience
- Minimum height is 4ft and the maximum height is 6ft 5
- Maximum weight is 15 stone/95kg
- Please make the supplier aware of any potential medical issues when booking
- Your experience will be taken as part of a three-person group
- Locations may be subject to change – additional locations may be available during the year and you may book at the supplier's Silverstone location for an additional fee of £20 – this can be arranged directly with the supplier
- You must take your voucher, booking confirmation and ID with you on the day
- Allow 45 minutes for the whole experience

Had an amazing helicopter flying lesson at Thruxton in Hampshire at the weekend. The team at Heli Air were amazing, very pleasant and helpful. The whole experience was fun and exciting from start to finish and I would certainly recommend this to anyone with an interest in flying helicopters. My only criticism is that it could have been longer with a bit more time for each person taking the controls. This is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars overall but all in all very enjoyable.

Love everything about the chopper experience - you really do get to take the controls and fly from the moment you’re in the air and when combined with a couple of other learners you are in the air for an hour - great fun. Good spot for guests to watch from too. Top instructor.

No problems finding Wycombe venue, filled in a form, great service all round, fast tracked to helicopter, pilot was helpful and friendly. Experience in the air was amazing and had great views. Felt independent and safe taking control of the the helicopter with the pilot by my side. Highly recommended!

5 min control time for 3 not 1

Hi, my wife purchased the 20 min helicopter lesson for one.
It turns out it was 3 people in 1 helicopter, and each had a lap of the circuit around the flying centre sitting in the front seat. We were able to take the control for half of the lap. Each lap taken was approximately 5min which allows the controls to be taken for approx 3 minutes. It was decent to experience a helicopter ride but should not be advertised as a 20min helicopter flying lesson for one. It certainly was not good value for money. I'm unsure if all buyagift experience days are of this quality but I was not impressed. I believe for the price paid compensation is a reasonable request.

I flew from Swansea airport. Really enjoyed my flight and my pilot, Gareth, was great. He gave me a good understanding of helicopter flying and plenty of time on the controls. I also got to experience some more adventurous flying at his hands :) Can't fault this experience in any way!

Failed to get the minutes my dad paid for. Had to pay extra for simulator experience which was a useful teaching aid. Better to have purchased the flight experience from the Helicopter Team only enjoyed 6 minutes of flying time a few minutes of which I had a degree of control
