Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court Palace was built in 1514 for Cardinal Wolsey and later inherited by one of history’s most infamous and boisterous of characters in the early 1600s, King Henry VIII. Not one for long-term relationships, five of six of Henry’s wives lived at Hampton Court Palace, with rumour having it that two still haunt the palace to this day! Perhaps you’ll be lucky (or unlucky) enough to bump into the ghost of Jane Seymour or Catherine Howard as you peruse through the grounds. An essential visit for any history buff or royal fan, the palace is a mesmerizing visit for the whole family. Explore The Maze and see if you can tackle your way through to the finish – a challenge still baffling visitors 300 years on. Investigate the intricate tapestries as you venture through The Great Hall. Venture through the Tudor Kitchens (covering 3000 square feet) that once provided 600 meals twice a day! With so much to see, you’re sure to be spoilt for choice. Just make sure you have enough time to see it all!

Hampton Court River Cruise

Make a day out of it. Retrace the Royal Barge Route with a beautiful three hour river cruise from Westminster to Hampton Court Palace. Soak up history and culture as you pass the Royal Botanical Gardens, Richmond and much more. The best way to see London from the river. All aboard!

Afternoon Tea at Hampton Court

Continue the royal theme after a visit to Hampton Court Palace with a decadent afternoon tea fit for Henry VIII. Indulge in a spread of dainty finger sandwiches and clotted cream smothered over fresh scones with tea and coffee, topped off with a glass of champers for good measure. Just don’t get carried away. We wouldn’t want anyone to go under the guillotine now would we?
