An enjoyable experience
The admin side of this experience was well handled by Buyagift and the venue was very pleasant albeit a bit off the beaten track - however the afternoon tea itself was a bit of a disappointment - half of the the menu comprised a tea list (think wine list but for tea) which described a number of delicious sounding loose leaf teas from which to choose whereas the reality was a Twinings teabag!
My wife asked if it would be possible to have brown bread only for the sandwiches but we received a mixture of white and brown.
Whilst the food was absolutely fine - my God were the portions diddy - you could very easily have been done and dusted in under half an hour - even chewing every mouthful 32 times - we only managed to stretch it out to just under and hour
My wife had the presence of mind to take a doggy bag in which to take home any excess food rather than pig out - whereas we very well could have taken a doggy bag to the afternoon tea with a bit more food in!

Wonderful historic setting
4 finger sandwiches, 4 small desserts/cakes and a scone with clotted cream and jam, along with bottomless loose leaf tea. The scone was beautiful. Possible the best scone I've had.

Lovely treat
The setting is beautiful, the scones are very good and we would return . The sandwiches were disappointing , bread was not fresh and little filling .
