Classic Spa Day with Lunch and a Glass of Prosecco at Lion Quays Resort for Two

Due to health issues we contacted the Spa and booked but just for the Lunch!! (Meal in the middle of the day) after being seen we was sent to the wrong Restaurant. We was then told the Spa itself dealt with all the Lunches etc, Not Quays Restaurant. We went upstairs to a large eating area empty showed a seat us a near the window and left with a list of Tapas and told we could choose 3 of of the 9 listed. We had to ask for drinks and then again ask for our Prosecco. We questioned the fact we was here for a lunch and told that is it end of. We ended sitting up with two other couples who just come in robes from the spa. Not really going out for Lunch!! Trade description this was NOT a lunch!! no sweets nothing this was such a let down!! Travelled 64 miles for 3 Tapas each. Mineral drinks which we then paid for and then left. tried to talk to spa staff etc but told nothing to do with them it was BUY-A-GIFT who I should contact.

The Lion Quays Classic Spa day was a lovely birthday gift for my granddaughter and I accompanied her on the visit. The lunch as usual was delicious, foccica bread with dips , followed by a choice of 3 tapas. The flute of Prosecco finished it off delightfully. The staff at the spa are always friendly and helpful. Robes and flip flops were also part of the deal. We did not require any treatments. The large swimming pool is lovely and the large hydro/ spa pool is a treat. We tried the saunas too. A couple of downsides were there were some areas lacking in TLC, there was some mould around windows in the upstairs reception, the lift was none too clean and had sticky tape holding buttons together. I couldn’t really believe that other than a cleaner occasionally, we never saw any staff members at all in the time we were there in the pool area. Checking that everyone was ok and no complaints or problems. As there was actually a very noisy party there and throwing each other in the water at one point. Lasting to my knowledge at least 10-15 minutes. Rather unpleasant incident. I have to say though overall, it was a very pleasant day, we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I bought this for my friend, who took me as her plus 1. It was absolutely brilliant, The facilities at Lion Quays were excellent and the staff very helpful and professional. The weather was beautiful so we were about to take lunch with prosecco outside on the terrace, which just added to the day.
