About the experience
Wander the streets of 1960s Poplar on the official Call the Midwife tour, where your own costumed midwife guide leads you and your guest past the slums and warehouses that stand in for the show's east end. All of it happens at The Historic Dockyard Chatham in Kent, the atmospheric backdrop to many of the series' best-loved scenes. Overseen by the show's producers at Neal Street Productions, the 90-minute walk finishes with props, costumes and sets from the latest series, so you'll spot the details the camera never lingers on.

Excellent, Interesing Tour.
The Call The Midwife tour guide was absolutely brilliant. She had a great sense of humour and engaged our attention throughout the tour. It was interesting to see the areas used for filming and hearing how they were adapted to the scene we saw on the programme itself. The tour guide had a book of pictures relating to the fulmed areas, so we could visually recall the scene. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend the tour. Thank you.

Fantastic tour
Lovely day out from start to finish. Our guide Helen was so knowledgeable and engaged. Really fascinating to see where midwife is filmed. The ticket also extended to the whole of the dockyard and we enjoyed seeing the ships and learning about the maritime history

Very disapointed
Tour only lasted about 45 minutes instead of 90 due to the tour guide becoming ill (through no fault of her own). It was a very hot day and we were left standing several times during the tour waiting for someone to take over but that didn't happen we were just taken to the exhibition room. This could have been a very informative tour but we were not offered compensation of a full tour at another time which made it an expensive and disappointing trip.
