Disappointing experience
I booked this hotel on the 20th September 2025 for a one night stay for two on the 30th September. I chose the hotel from the Buyagift website and telephoned the number shown on the Wild Pheasant link. I got through to Hotels One and explained I had a Buyagift voucher to use and they gave me a phone number for The Wild Pheasant Hotel to make a booking.
The receptionist there took my details. I mentioned the Buyagift voucher and was told it would be sorted on arrival and confirmed that the booking was complete and looked forward to seeing us on the 30th September.
However, on arrival at the hotel on the 30th, they could not find any details of the booking. My wife and I had travelled for 5 1/2 hours and were tired from the journey and now dismayed by the prospect of having to find another place to stay. After a while we were told they had one room left which needed cleaning, which we accepted.
The hotel staff could not understand how the booking was not made but I was able to show details of my call to them from my call history which apparently they had no record of. On departure the following morning the manager said she could look back through their records to find details of the call and see who took the booking. She said she would let us know the outcome but I am yet to hear from them.
So I'm afraid it was not a good experience and left my wife and I very worried at being told there was no room booked for us.

Hotel Needs Upgrade
Hotel needs work to bring up to better standard. Decor throughout the building shabby and needs attention. Spa area only very small and needed attention ie flooring in steam room broken up and dangerous underfoot. Sadly dogs in restaurant and bar areas clambering on furniture and tables . No dog free areas available to customers . The hotel appeared to be one of the better options available but overall was found to be disappointing. Location of hotel and the food menu was good. The hotel staff were very professional, warm and welcoming but it was not enough to avoid the disappointment of the hotel and overall stay.

Lovely hotel
We stayed for one night, the hotel was lovely the room was spacious and very nice.
The spa was great and food was very nice.
We would definitely go back to this hotel.
