Racing Car Driving Experience at Thruxton

It is almost every mans dream to be like Stirling Moss, James Hunt, Nigel Mansell, Lewis Hamilton and all the other super star racers. It's a dream that never goes away, we all secretly think that we'd love to have a go in a proper racing car on a real race track, but very few people ever get that opportunity. This is your chance to make those dreams come true, you can drive a genuine single seat Formula Renault racing car around Thruxton, Britain's fastest motor racing circuit. Home of the British Formula 3 championship, Thruxton also plays host to the British Superbike championship, this is a racing circuit with pedigree. For your race day you will receive a welcome, introduction and safety briefing from one of the fully qualified ARDS instructors who will then take you out onto the track in a Alpine A110S for 2 instructor driven training laps. Then you'll get the chance to get to know the track by driving the Alpine yourself for 3 laps. Confident that you are able to master the challenges that the track holds you will then get to drive a genuine Formula Renault single seat race car around the circuit for 5 laps, this is your chance to show Messrs Moss, Mansell, Hamilton et al just how you could've been one of them. After your drive you'll be given an assessment from one of the highly trained instructors on how you did. To top the day off you will be taken on a high speed passenger lap of the track by one of the professional racing drivers. Finally, as a memento of the day you drove a real racing car you will receive a commemorative certificate.

What do I need to know?

• Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
• This experience is available on selected week days only
• Min. age is 17 years
• You must hold a full UK driving licence which you will need to bring with you on the day. Photocopies will not be accepted
• Min height 1.52m/5'0”
• Max height 1.83m/6'0” - drivers over 1.83m/6'0” but under 1.93m/6'4” may still participate but they will drive a Sports 2000 racing car rather than a Formula Renault single seater
• Max weight 114Kg/18st
• There are no medical restrictions but participants must be able to drive the car without any modifications needed to enable them to drive. If in any doubt about your suitability for the experience, please check with the supplier before booking
• All dates are subject to availability
• Please bring weather appropriate outdoor wear
• When driving participants must wear long sleeved shirt, trousers and flat & thin soled shoes/trainers
• Photo's and DVD's of your experience may be available to purchase at the venue
• It may be possible to purchase additional laps on the day of the event
• Please allow approximately 2 ¼ hours for this experience
