You will see lots of cute bears!
I booked the holiday by email, it was quick and easy. The flights weren't expensive, I used Ryanair. We were met promptly at the airport, the staff were friendly. The hotels were nice although it was quite noisy in Bucharest so take ear plugs! Both hotels included breakfast.
We didn't add any of the additional activities and weren't pressured to. The walking tours were not available in any case, there are free ones but we took one and about 30 people showed up, it was hard to hear the guide at times as the route took us along some busy streets. I would have preferred a private tour.
We had lots of free time on the holiday and even when we went to the castles we were given time to explore things on our own which was nice. Bran castle was lovely but at Peles castle we were directed to join a guided tour. The castle was packed, it was quite chaotic. I don't know if we could have toured it without the official guide but I guess it would still be chaos with all the other visitors anyway.
I would say that you need a reasonable level of fitness and good walking shoes for the bear activities. You aren't expected to walk far but the paths are rocky and can be slippery. I would advise taking some walking boots. You can also walk up the mountain in Brasov when you are there, it takes an hour but gives an amazing view.
We didn't have a bad meal while there but only ate in restaurants recommended by the guide. We used google translate once in a cafe (if you hold your camera phone over the menu it will translate it for you) but found that most people spoke some English.
We didn't visit the parliament building, this is something that you would need to prearrange if you wanted to do this.
Overall a good experience. I would definitely recommend the holiday and the holiday company.
