About the experience
Dive into the wonderful world of falconry with this fun-filled day out for two. Take delight in the rare occasion to not only take a glimpse at these elusive predators, but to learn about how these birds operate in the wild from the expert handlers. Be taught all about a range of topics such a housing, diet and training of the birds from the expert handlers. Next up is an incredible aerial display, where you can watch the birds elegantly soar through the sky. You can even handle the birds at selected locations!
What do I need to know?

- The experience runs on weekends, March–November
- There is no absolute minimum age, but this experience is recommended to be most suitable for those 11 years and over
- Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult

Great Morning
We had the bird of prey experience given to us for a birthday present. We had a great morning and the falconer was extremely knowledgeable. He kept us enthralled the whole time and we learned a lot about birds of prey. We got to handle them afterwards and we all had a go at flying them. Wonderful experience. One word of warning. There’s no seating so it was a bit hard on the legs having to stand for 3 hours. Bring a fold up chair if you can. It was a bit chilly standing in the field, so wear plenty of warm clothing.

Great Day
Mercer Falconry owner Dan, is full of knowledge and enthusiasm. He makes the session entertaining and everyone got to handle the birds, despite there being 30 people at the event. The birds are really well looked after and it is great to share in Dans enthusiasm and love for his craft.

Great birds and great day out
Went as a family, ages between 20-50, a gift for Father’s Day and we had a lovely day, the birds were beautiful great to see their character, and Dan was very friendly, chatty and educated us on the beautiful birds.
