Twilight Spa Evening with Prosecco for One at a Macdonald Hotel

I wish I could give this zero stars. This review is no reflection on Buyagift itself, but I genuinely think they should reconsider offering vouchers for this venue. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. The staff came across as immature and rude, and the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Once we finally got into the spa area, we lasted around 10 minutes before deciding to leave. We genuinely tried to give it a chance, but it just wasn't an enjoyable experience. The changing rooms felt like stepping back in time to old school swimming lessons and were noticeably grubby. The spa and pool area felt tired, neglected, and far from relaxing. There was old, stained conservatory furniture throughout, the steam room was barely warm, and the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The pool didn't look inviting at all because everything felt so dirty and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, a member of staff shouted "Thanks for coming!" down the corridor, seemingly unaware that we had only just entered the facilities and were already leaving. There was no concern shown and no attempt to ask if anything was wrong. The complimentary drink was also unnecessarily difficult. Neither of us drinks alcohol, so we asked for soft drink alternatives. We were told our only option was Coke and weren't even allowed something simple like a tonic water. Overall, this was a complete waste of money, which is especially disappointing because two separate vouchers had been purchased as gifts. Neither experience was enjoyed, and unfortunately we left feeling extremely let down.
