Delightful hotel stay - but disappointing that Buyagift added surcharges
Don't buy a voucher From 'BuyaGift'! I'll never use them again. The hotel we booked was delightful, but the room allocated against the 'Buyagift' voucher was dated, small, with a disappointing view and very dull decor. Apparently that was the only grade of room available when using a 'BuyaGift' voucher. When we booked our stay, Buyagift's website did not used the full amount of the gift voucher, implying that the amount used covered our stay in full and leaving a small unused amount as a voucher for future use. When we tried to book the room, we were then made to pay an extra amount to top up our booking. This was very deceitful, I'm glad the gift buyer didn't know we had been forced to pay extra on top of their gift when the voucher should have fully covered the hotel stay. We were then left with a small voucher which we used to book a meal at a well known pizza restaurant. Again we were forced to add extra money to book the meal. When we arrived there, we were given a separate, limited menu - not the full restaurant menu - and at the end the bill showed that our meal was the value of £40 (of which we had added £20 ourselves). This is not a good system, both vouchers required us to add a 'top up' of extra cash and both times we felt we'd been treated as though we were given the worst deal on what was supposed to be a wonderful treat. I've told my relatives to never buy a gift like this again!

Lovely family atmosphere
Just had a lovely couple of days here. You really feel the relaxed atmosphere when you go in and Nicky and Mark the owners are very friendly and welcoming.
The rooms are nice, tidy and clean with all you need for a short break.
The building itself is quirky and well maintained with lots of nice little touches that keep you looking out of interest, much nicer than these large sterile modern hotels.
Breakfast was good and we had a great evening in the bar with Mark and some other guests, a real "must" to get the background and feeling of the place.
We would happily go back to see them when the opportunity arises.

The Beaumont, Sittingbourne
Had a lovely weekend at the Beaumont in Sittingbourne. The hosts, Dom and Gabby, we're very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were very good quality.

Misleading description
Clean room, comfortable bed, generous prepackaged breakfast. Ideal for an overnight stop but NOT a memorable break. Description misrepresented the quality of the accommodation. No hot water in the shower and no response from the host when contacted. Poor value for money. Cheaper on booking.com. Will not be going through Buyagift in future.
