An awful stay for the following reasons: 1. You will be told there is a non negotiable admin fee\surcharge of £5 per person per night... 2. Due to the poor rate paid by byagift, you will be given a room that looks nothing like their website. Ours was above a flat roof with the kitchen extractor billowing out smoke with a wedding venue directly below. 3. The 16 Acres of grounds are behind a padlocked 8ft steel fence reserved only for Weddings. You have a car park to enjoy. 4. We waited almost 90 minutes for our food to arrive one evening. 5. The bar is astronomically expensive. £8.00 for a small glass of cheap prossecco 6. The bed had a cheap wire mattress of around 4 inches thick, that compressed to nothing when used. 6. The shower was over the bath with an old fashioned bathtap\hose of fixed height. It was impossible to keep a stable temp. 7. It is primarily a local wedding venue so lots of drunken people staggering around until all hours. There were 2 running in parallel whilst we were there. In summary, don't be fooled by the marketing literature or their website. It is a cheap venue for a reason, and certainly not a peaceful countryside retreat...
