Lovely break

My sister and I enjoyed our stay at the Audley Park Hotel although we wouldn’t go there again, such a long walk to our room and up and down stairs to get there carrying our bags. Our evening meal and breakfasts were very good and couldn’t fault the friendly staff. We had a problem with our kettle not working but after 3 reports of the problem we eventually tracked the house manager and got a replacement. Our shower had a problem with a very slow waste water getting away almost flooding the shower cubicle. I felt the hotel needed a refurbishment.

Short but sweet

We have just returned from a short break to the Aubrey Park Hotel between St Albans & Hemel Hemstead bought for us by our children just before covid arrived!! The long wait was worth it. Although ths Hotel was a bit tired in parts ( carpets furniture etc) the setting, staff & wonderful food more than made up for it. A special mention for Morris in the restaurant & for the receptionist who che ked us in on Wednesday afternoon.
Was in ideal spot for us to visit Bletchley Park on way down, Windsor Castle on the Thursday & St Albans on day of return.

Staff were overall very friendly & helpful . Upon arrival at 2 pm we asked if we were able to get a coffee & sandwich , to which we were told ,” I’m afraid that isn’t possible today , then after having a walk around the hotel we noticed a table of 3 sat having food , so not a good start . The room was dull , dirty & had a certain damp stale smell , not inviting at all . The bed had seen better days . The hotel needs a complete refurb to be honest . This was a gift from our family for a 30th wedding anniversary . We decided not to stay & left . Costing us more money to go find somewhere else . Extremely disappointed .

we had a lovely 2 night stay room was lovely and very cosy and warm and very very clean
breakfast was yummy
evening meal was very nice staff were helpfull and friendly all in all lovely weekend and would def stay here again

Needs refurbishment badly

This hotel is very dirty, grubby and in need of a total refurbishment. General cleanliness is shocking and carpets in the food areas are thick with dirt and grease posing a health hazard. The rooms are very dated and surface cleaned only. The mattress are very hard. Our first night was noisy between the motorway (a few hundred yards from the hotel) and the kitchen extractor fan. We were then ‘upgraded’ to an executive room that was much quieter. Overall the hotel needs ‘gutting’ and total refurbishment. Furthermore, we had to park in a field that was full of stingers and long grass as the car parks were full.

Rooms of a good size and comfortable bed. No air conditioning but window could be opened. We had no key so were unable to lock the window for security on a night time. Evening meal very good. Buy a Gift deal said 3 course meal but hotel gave £30 per person which was then difficult to get a x3 course in that allowance. However choice was good and of a very good standard.

The hotel was nicely located in a quiet area, close to St Albans and we visited Warner Bro Studios for the Harry Potter tour (25 mins away). The included dinner was excellent, both had 3 courses for little over the £30 budget. Staff could have been better, although one lady in particular was good when we needed to move rooms (ground floor window would not lock).
