Short Breaks in York

Great weekend. Hotel was perfect. Ideal location.

From the friendly welcome to our departure we had a super time here. The wigwam pod was spotlessly clean, cozy and comfortable, surrounded by nature with a couple of friendly Robins visiting. The pod was equipped with a good size fridge with freezer compartment, a microwave and electric kettle and plugs for phone charging etc. counter top and shelving for meal preparation. Outside deck area, picnic bench with disposable bbq pad. Quiet, intimate, back to nature site with all modern amenities, shower/toilet blocks, dish washing and clothes washing facilities (machines and tumble driers) children's play area and woodland walks. Close to walking trails and places of interest. Haven of peace away from a busy world, we thoroughly recommend a visit.

We usually come here once a year but this time it was in the summer ,lovely and warm.The room was small and did get hot but we weren'tin there that long.Love going swimming before breakfast,which was lovely and all the staff so friendly.Will be back next year

We had a fabulous time. Beautiful surroundings lovely clean pod. The fishing was excellent. We can't wait to go back.

Such an amazing time in the crown plaza and perfect location . Buy a gift was so easy to use to book the last minute hotel I have even put a buy a gift down for a present for my birthday next week

Fabulous place to stay. Wonderful, friendly staff. Super clean and well appointed rooms and great food and beer. Thank you too to the 'Buy a Gift' team member who helped me book this accommodation when I got in a muddle with the voucher. He was fab.

Pleasant owners, super tidy pods, pristine site, friendly chickens, rural location 25 mins from York city centre, quiet retreat away from the noise.

Hotel staff cheerful helpful, good sized clean room,quiet night sleep,great breakfast would definitely recommend and stay there on our next trip to Liverpool

We used vouchers given as a birthday treat for a two night visit to York. After reading reviews we decided on the Novotel mainly due to its location sitting on the banks of the river and within easy walking distance of the attractions. This hotel also has a car park, at a cost of £15 per night. Large hotel, upkeep on the whole was good however the carpets in our room were badly stained and we had problems with getting constant hot water whilst showering but we managed. I can't comment on the food as we decided to eat out, breakfast closes at 9.30 which is a little early for us. For anyone with tickets for a show at the Barbican this hotel is ideal being only a 5 minute walk away. Would definitely visit again
