Afternoon Tea in Surrey

My boyfriend and I were given this voucher for Christmas and decided to use it in Bath on Good Friday. It felt like a real treat! In the S&L, the staff were attentive, and the food was delicious and plentiful. We also had two soft or hot drinks included. Highly recommended!

Lovely meal, good selection. Added a third course as it was so nice and the churros were worth it.

Tasty sandwiches and scones. Plenty of jam and cream followed by a selection of cakes Very friendly service.

What a lovely afternoon we had with pleasant and very helpful staff. Food freshly prepared and explained nicely when it arrived at the table what was included on the tea stand. Because it was my birthday I also had an additional tray of 2 cakes decorated. It was an afternoon to remember.

We arrived early for our afternoon tea but were told that we could be seated and were served promptly. Staff were friendly and efficient and the selection of sandwiches and sweet treats were amazing, with types a little bit different to the usual afternoon teas we have had previously.The cocktails were delicious too. Well done to the Slug and Lettuce.

A great place for more than afternoon tea and if other meals are as good as the tea, you’ll be very impressed with the result. Being gluten-free I have always been somewhat disappointed with the lack of variety especially with the cakes and scones. I am very pleased to say, not at Barnett Hill. I had a great feast on both beautifully tasty sandwiches, two wonderfully warm scones accompanied by a pot of clotted cream, lemon curd and jam. This was followed by a large number of delicious little cakes. A choice of tea, coffee, sparkling champagne or soft drinks were on offer Our decaf pot was generously filled up a number of times with a smile. We sat in a tall ceilinged room, being winter, there was a warming fire and seating generously for five couples around it so that no-one was near or could be overheard. Despite having travelled from the Southampton area, it was truly worth it. Will come again in the summer for lunch if only to be able to walk around the fantastic grounds as my post lunch exercise.
