Enjoyable but...
Tea was served in the impressive and very large dining room. Staff were lovely. Tea itself was very good. Special mention for delicious scones and sausage rolls. Good variety of sweet treats. More jam and cream would be good as scones were quite large. My only criticism is that the crockery was thick white china and felt more appropriate for school dinners. On the whole we had a good experience but cannot comment on value for money as this was a gift.

Afternoon Tea
We were well looked after, they allowed us to have the tea on Fri rather than the usual Sat. We much appreciated it. It was delicious and well served.

Delicious afternoon tea
The afternoon tea at the White Swan in Alnwick was lovely. The dining room used to be the dining room of the Olympic ship which was the sister of the Titanic. The waitresses were very polite and cheerful. It was a shame the hotel phoned me afterwards to say they couldn’t assign my voucher with Buyagift which meant I had to phone Customer Services at Buyagift to get this sorted for them. Thankfully it is sorted now I hope.

Wonderful gift
We were bought this gift for Christmas and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service was amazing and the waiter was very friendly and very attentive to our needs. The afternoon tea was one of the best we have had. Everything was very fresh and beautifully displayed and with an endless supply of coffee or tea. Excellent.

Hoped it would be special -
but it wasn't. Sitting at the back of a bar on the only table with a tablecloth. Felt really odd. Couldn't take photo because light was too dim. Table next to us was very close and cluttered with dirty dishes. Lady sitting there was painting her nails. Teapot stainless steel was stained and scratched - well past its best, saucer under my cup was chipped, china tired. Couldn't wait to eat up and leave. Pity because the sandwiches were very tasty, scones light but impossible to eat the banana mouse in a glass unless you use the handle of your spoon! Try it chef!
