Good experience for the money

I was given this as a Christmas gift and really enjoyed it - although we were a bit confused at the beginning as we weren't told how to use the ipads, so we ended up ordering menu items that came up as £0 on the iPad - but turns out these were in the 'bottomless sushi' menu, not our menu, so we had to pay for them (although they let us off a couple). Makes sense as most afternoon teas are a set menu but would have been good to have someone explain the experience to us at the beginning so we don't make the mistake of choosing 'free' menu items that we then have to pay for. Also had to keep trying to get the waiters attention for prosecco top ups - although they were kind enough to top us up when we asked for it at the end and we took our drinks to the downstairs bar. The food was delicious though and all in all a lovely meal out with great value for money.

When we arrived we were informed we will receive a glass of Prosecco each (2), pot of tea and a sharing platter. Considering on my gift voucher it stated “bottomless prosecco” which in my eyes bottomless means you drink as much for an hour and a half. This was not the case here. When we were seated the waitress informed us that she will bring our pot of tea over which we asked not to as we will simply not drink it and don’t want to waste it, but she kept insisting as it was included, but we just kept saying that it will go to waste so really there’s no need. Our platter arrived shortly after and it was certainly quite a bit of a disappointment. In total I had 8 mouthfuls of a sharing platter, the food was also not the best, salmon felt quite stale as if it had been sat there for a while. We decided to leave (20 minutes after sitting down) and as we proceeded to leave we were told there was also a dessert, however at this point we were still pretty hungry so decided to get more food else where. Certainly disappointed with the whole experience and would not recommend.

Great idea but poor service

Only had the booking for 90 minutes, prosecco was poor quality and not enough food. Waitresses were lovely, can't fault them, but the offer wasn't good value for money.

Staff didn't want to be there

We arrived and taken to our table. We explained we had a precooked and prepaid meal. After 10mins sitting at the table, we asked a staff member for our drink that was included. The response was, order drinks on the screen. We asked for our drinks included, they asked what these were. I showed the staff member my phone, to my surprise she then took my phone from me and wanted to show her colleague, after a moment I was asked if I minded her taking my phone, it had already been handled so bit pointless now. We eventually got our drinks served by a polite male member of the team. We then sat another 20mins and then another member of the team who seemed more experienced came over to ask if we were OK and got us another drink. Our food then came out, put on the table and the staff member said nothing and walked away. The more experienced staff member returned and said, I'm sorry she should have said what we had in front of us. I thanked this staff member as I dont eat meat and needed to identify what food was what. Staff who were not wearing masks for whatever reason, I'm sure there was a valid reason were not following social distancing, which made us feel very uncomfortable. Leaning across the table in front if us to collect item. We then had a dessert that was still semi frozen, we couldn't eat it. We did feedback to staff and they just said it is kept in the freezer. We decided to leave. It may be the first day of opening after a difficult time for everyone but what should have been a special treat, just wasn't very enjoyable. I'm sorry.
