Full Day Axe Making Experience for One

Swing a sledgehammer, shape glowing steel and forge your very own hand axe across a full day at Phoenix Forge, with tuition from an accredited master blacksmith while you use safety equipment and PPE. You'll start at the fire, hammering hot metal into shape, then heat treat, shape and handle it, giving you the satisfying feel of turning raw steel into a hand axe. There's real satisfaction in turning a rough lump of steel into something you made with your own hands, and you'll head home with the axe to prove it.

What do I need to know?

• Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
• Valid for 12 months from the date of purchase
• Your voucher is valid for one person
• Minimum age: 18 years
• Participants work as part of a team with other course members
• Spectators are welcome; spectators under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over at all times
• Available in Carmarthen, Wales only
• Booking at least eight weeks in advance is recommended
• Participants must be in good health, as the day involves swinging a sledgehammer for several hours
• Please inform the supplier of any medical conditions or health concerns when booking
• Please wear working clothing such as jeans and a T-shirt; safety boots or walking boots are preferred
• Please bring your voucher and email confirmation on the day
