Lovely getaway

Clean hotel with friendly staff
We arrived on a Sunday evening having booked 2 nights at this hotel on Southend seafront. We had dinner and a glass of wine on one night included, plus breakfast the next day. We had booked dinner for our first night. However, we were not aware that only a Sunday roast menu was available. Neither of us fancied that so we asked if we could swap our meal to the following evening. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to swap straight away.
The hotel was very clean and staff were welcoming and friendly.
Our only concern was the kettle in our room was positioned right underneath the tv so the steam was going up inside it. Also, the kettle did not switch itself off once boiled, it was rusty underneath and the glass over the ‘heating light’ was half broken off. Not a huge issue but just thought it worth mentioning in terms of safety.

Good Two Night Stay
This was a very good stay at this hotel, we had the voucher extended since Covid 19 issues & needed a break, luckily managed to get the date in July for two nights. This is a small hotel with very friendly & helpful staff, when we arrived we were allocated a room at the 2nd floor which was a bit of mission for us, so I asked receptionist & Lisa who manged to get us a room on a ground floor which saved us lot of hassle for a going up flight of stairs, Thank you Lisa, you are a Star. The room was very nice & clean, facilities are very good. we had a breakfast & dinner, the dining was great, included a glass of wine. Breakfast was equally great. The hotel is facing the beach, it is a 30 minute walk to the famous Pier or can take a bus to the town center for a shopping mall experience & walk to the Pier & Adventure Island. Lots of bars & restaurants along the beach promenade. The hotel has a car park so makes it easier to drive locally. We enjoyed our stay very much & hopefully visit again. Thank you Camelia Hotel.
