Disappointing afternoon tea.
Service average, polite but not welcoming.
Savory course lovely, cakes small and only one of each type and size made it difficult to cut in half and share, packed out wit two dry scones each with not enough jam and cream to help out.
No offer of a drinks top up or asked if we'd enjoyed our meal.
Not sure if this was because there was a wedding at the venue and staff were stretched. (We'd have booked a different day had we had know, we left like we were intruding on their special day)
We left with our a goodbye or thank you for coming.
We wouldn't return, we've had much better afternoon tea's at least extravagant venues.

Afternoon tea
Peckforton Castle is a beautiful place, the staff were really pleasant and helpful. Its a shame the food was disappointing, the ham sandwiches were described as honey roasted Wiltshire ham with a mustard mayonnaise, the actual ham was pale pink, wafer thin and no mustard or mayonnaise. the beef was pink and no taste of horseradish cream. The cakes were small, there was 5 to share between 2! and the fruit scones were undercooked . Also we weren't asked if we wanted more tea or coffee. Other diners tea wasn't so small, so i'm thinking ours was because it was your voucher instead of their own, or pay on the day. its supposed to be a bargain but its not.
