Fantastic experience, from the knowledge of our guide, the tasting experience, location etc. Would highly recommend

This experience was truly wonderful. We were met in the car park and shown to a seating area where we had tea of coffee. We were led into a marquee where the owner explained how the vines are grown and tended which was both entertaining and informative. We were shown around the vineyard to see the various types of grapes growing. We were then led into the winery where the grapes are pressed and the grape juice processed and saw the various vats and bottling machines etc. We then went back to the marquee for the wine tastings which was great - the different flavours really came through. We had a generous ploughman’s lunch followed by a lovely cheesecake. We then went to the shop and purchased a box of wine. It was a really lovely relaxing experience and would thoroughly recommend.

Very interesting

We had a fantastic day at Shawsgate Vineyard. The tour was extremely informative and the guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The lunch consisted of cheese, ham, salad and bread with a delicious cheesecake for dessert. There was no choice, but the food was good. The wine tasting involved quite a lot of wine, and we were able to choose a glass of our favourite for lunch - something to consider if you are driving! I would highly recommend this!

Very informative tour, good fun, lots to taste!

Although the actual tour was cancelled due to illness we still had the wine tasting. We were given a talk about the different grapes they use and how the wine is made. During the talk, by a very knowlegable gentleman, we were given a glass of sparkling rose wine then we had the tasting, a dry rose, a white and a red. They were very nice. We had a very nice time.

My sister and I had a very enjoyable tour tasting and lunch with good company and an excellent hostess. A very special day of excellent quality

Speaker very knowledgeable and kept the talk interesting. The wine measures given were very generous and not just a dribble in the glass. The addition of the cheese paired well with the wines. Not too many people in the group and the speaker made himself available throughout to answer any questions. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Would definitely recommend.

Our tour was led by Tom who is extremely knowledgeable and very engaging. The whole experience was first class with Chapeldown wines coupled with delicious English cheese.
