A Night Behind Bars at Shepton Mallet Prison for Two

Are you a bit of a thrill-seeker or perhaps a curious ghost hunter? Discover what it's like to spend 12 hours in jail with this unique overnight stay for two at Shepton Mallet Prison. You'll arrive at 8pm and will be met by prison staff at the gates. They will show you to your traditional Victorian cell for the night, allowing you to really get an authentic feel for the experience. You will then be greeted by a former prison officer who will guide you on a fascinating tour of the building. Discover the two Victorian wings, see the different prison cells, visit the segregation unit and finally, the execution room. After the tour, you can explore the site at your leisure. Whether you plan to go ghost hunting or you prefer to play a few board games, it's totally up to you. We wouldn't advise trying to escape though! Prison staff will be keeping a close eye on you throughout the evening and will be available to answer any questions. Retreat to your cell for some shut-eye and prepare for an early start at 7am the next morning – there's no time for tardiness in prison! Wake up to a traditional prison breakfast of porridge before you are released back into the world, ready to share your unbelievable stories about your unusual night in prison.

What do I need to know?

• Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
• Your voucher is valid for two people
• This experience is available on selected Fridays, and Saturdays year round
• Check in at 8pm and check out at 8am
• You will spend 12 hours at the prison
• The Visitor Centre will be open during your visit should you wish to purchase any hot or cold drinks or any snacks
• Minimum age: 18 years
