All aboard for this marvellous experience! Enjoy a double delight that provides not only a charming ride in a beautiful, authentic steam train through the picturesque Somerset countryside but also a delicious afternoon tea which includes sandwiches, mouth-watering dainties and scones with preserves and clotted cream. Sit back and drink in the gorgeous views as you depart Cranmore, catching up with someone special over a lovely pot of tea as well as a glass of prosecco to make your day extra special, before rolling in to Mendip Vale. At this point you’ll be free to explore the pleasant scenery on offer, or just relax aboard the charming dining carriage of the Mendip Belle and savour the luxury of your afternoon!
What do I need to know?
- Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
- Your voucher is valid for 10 months, for two people
- This experience is available on selected Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, between April-September
- The railway is open from 10am on operating days
- Vegetarian, gluten free and alcohol free alternatives are available but must be requested upon booking
- Minimum age is 18 for the sparkling afternoon tea trip. For regular train trips child tickets are available for ages 3-16 and under 3s may travel for free when accompanied by a paying adult
- All dates are subject to availability

A really lovely, well organised experience
The whole experience was good, the station was interesting to look at with loads of information boards/photos telling the story of the East Somerset Railway. The train was impressive and very well maintained by the volunteers. The train journey is short but goes through stunning countryside. Afternoon tea was well organised, plentiful and tasty. All the volunteers were friendly and helpful.
