About the experience
An exclusive behind-the-scenes glance at the goings on at Kent and East Sussex Railway - a wonderful day out for any railway enthusiast! Taking place in one of England's finest rural light railways, Kent and East Sussex Railway, this experience promises to deliver a memorable day out. Your day includes visiting craftsmen at work in the Carriage and Wagon Workshop before exploring the railway's locomotive engineering facility, loco yard and signal box. In the middle of the day you'll stop for a delicious lunch at the restaurant before paying a visit to the Colonel Stephen's museum and taking a 21 mile round trip on the railway.

A fantastic day out
I thoroughly enjoyed looking round the carriage &
wagon sheds and loco shed. It was great to travel the whole length of
the line. We had an excellent guide throughout the day who was very
informative and knowledgeable. But the highlight for me was going into
the signal box and operating the signals and instruments - something
that I’ve always wanted to do. I would definitely recommend the KESR
Behind the Scenes experience.

A great gift
A great day out on the Kent & East Sussex Railway with an exhalent guide.
A full access tour with lots of back ground information on the workings of the railway, visiting to a working signal box with a talk on the operation of the signals and points and a chance to stand on the foot plate of an enormous steam engine.

Great Gift
Our guide Jim was absolutely amazing able to give us a thoroughly enjoyable experience. So knowledgeable in all aspects of the railway the workshops signal box the importance & history of it. An extra was a spell on the footplate which capped an amazing time
