Family Heritage Train Ride at Wensleydale Railway

So as I purchased this as a gift for my Husband's 50th bday we only got to use it 2 years later due to COVID. We were disappointed that there were no steam trains running not was the train running to Redmire due to the tracks needing to be replaced. The staff at the train station were fab. So friendly, and gave us a history of the railway and the house. The only train that was running that day was a Pacer ?? but beggars can't be choosers. We took the 40 minute ride to Leyburn which was relaxing even on old tracks that have the gaps where they fix down. It's all history in comparison to what we have today. If I had one fault it wouldn't be with Wensleydale railway, they work with what they have available. It would be with BuyaGift. They need to amend the description of this heritage train ride to include the Redmire journey is no longer available due to track replacement being required and, that steam is not always available either. Reading the reviews from others this has been an issue for many. Also, because COVID hit while we had the gift voucher the option to extend required a £20 fee which in my view, under the circumstances is very unfair. We would have extended until steam trains were running again but not at a fee of £20. So we had no choice but to use the voucher before it expired. I also think if this review gets a response it will be exactly as others have had. A repetitive reply that comments will be passed to the relevant department.
