Five-Course Set Menu at Great British Menu Chef Andrew Sheridan’s The Bracebridge for Two

The Bracebridge were most helpful with our booking, the same cannot be said for your website which we found difficult to navigate.

Lots of choice of activities but many didn't seem to offer good value to me. Every time I navigated to an activity for more information, when I went back, it took me back to the top of the huge list of options again and each time I had to then scroll down to where I was. Therefore, I would recommend planning ahead so you can choose something good. I also found I needed to phone each supplier directly with questions because sometimes the details on buyagift were not clear, for example accurate times of the year when the activity was available and whether or not a restaurant catered for allergies. In my haste, I upgraded to a five course meal at the Bracebridge. I can highly recommended the restaurant for its food and location, just not the five course package. And check thoroughly if you have allergies. Three of the courses we ordered were delicious, service was formal and friendly. The view out the window is absolutely stunning! Picturesque woodland next to a small lake. I thought the five courses were going to be a special tasting menu but it turned out to be any of the above from the main menu. Not a bad deal except the cheese was a baked camembert with no other options. A selection of cheeses would be better for me. The camembert was particularly unappealing given the fact that the restaurant hadn't got any gluten free crackers or bread in to accompany the camembert, even though I'd contacted them twice to make sure they could cater for gluten free. So, we refused one of the four courses and, I guess, fair enough, we didn't get any money off for this. It just could have been a courtesy. My allergy also meant that the only option for my chef's snack was nuts and olives, which were nice but not something I would have usually ordered. For some reason the server couldn't explain, the chorizo had gluten in it. So what disappointed me was that I paid for five courses but really got three plus some nuts and olives and the offer of a baked camembert.
