Spa Day for One with 40 Minute Treatment at Rena Spa Leonardo Royal Grand Hotel Southampton

We booked for a friends special birthday and were very disappointed. The positives - The treatment was absolutely amazing as was the therapist and the treatment rooms. The afternoon tea was also very nice, although being able to choose sandwiches would have been nice as we didn't like most of them but that's just personal taste. We also had a problem with tiny little flies around our table and my friend had to ask for a clean cup as the flies went in her tea, which the staff kindly gave her. Negatives - The pool area, changing rooms, showers etc were all run down and in desperate need of repair. The place smelt of damp/sweaty feet. The showers were very dark and what you could see wasn't clean. The jacuzzi isn't very powerful at all and there are also not many sunbeds. The bottom of the pool felt like there was grit underfoot. The stairs from the pool up to the sauna/steam room & changing rooms are all rusty. I have paid a lot less for spa days and they have been so much better and cleaner. Definately wouldn't recommend this spa day to anyone. However if you only want a treatment then they are lovely! I would recommend Buyagift but just not this experience day
