A little disappointing
The food was good but nothing special unfortunately. It's a shame the chef doesn't know that cucumber sandwiches are traditionally made with white bread and tuna in brown. We had to ask for teaspoons to stir our tea and also had to ask for our Prosecco. Once the tea stand was served we had no more attention from the waitress, she more or less disappeared. We would have liked to be asked if everything was OK and if we wanted more tea and coffee. The occasion was also rather spoilt by the awful smell of drains which is very off putting at the best of times but especially when eating. The approach road and car park leaves a great deal to be desired as well unfortunately.

Great Service and lovely food
We had the afternoon tea as a gift, having never been to the Ty Newydd it was a new experience. The service was excellent with nothing being too much trouble, food was excellent to match.

Zero Customer Service. Avoid

My wife's 70th birthday present was ruined today.
I followed the correct procedure to ring with the booking reference to arrange the cream tea.
On arrival we were seated and given the teapot.
As we were drinking our tea we were summoned to the reception who could not find our booking.
What followed was both embarrassing and humiliating as the three front of house staff behind reception grilled us for five minutes about the booking, which they couldn't find.
I pointed out that it was the venue that had made the mistake not us, but they persisted in trying to make us look like the ones at fault.
The customer service skills on display were less than zero.
My wife was so upset on what should have been a happy 70th birthday, that she couldn't eat the food, so we took it away in a bag.
The staff including the manger at no point took responsibility nor made any apologies.

Generous proportions
Very good range of savoury and sweet offerings. Too much for one meal but staff helpfully provided doggy bags. On time and prompt service.

Disappointing
Was bought this as a gift , very disappointing, was expecting a more ‘country hotel ‘ feel but we were sat in a bar area with no atmosphere , the food was ok until we found a hair in one of the cakes. We won’t be back and I wouldn’t recommend buying this as a gift
