About the experience
Set in the idyllic Wye Valley on the outskirts of the Royal Forest of Dean, The Royal Lodge serves as the perfect location for a tranquil break where you can truly relax and unwind. With beautiful views of the Magnolia tree-lined garden and River Wye, you and your guest will experience charm and comfort, with a stylish en suite bedroom and access to the guest lounge and hotel restaurant. Built in 1876, the former royal hunting lodge has been a hotel since the 1920s and provides guests with an ideal location for enjoying outdoor activities including canoeing, cycling, kayaking and golf.
What do I need to know?

- Available Sunday-Thursday from April-September and Monday-Sunday from October-March, subject to availability
- Surcharges may be applicable for peak periods
- Please ensure you inform the hotel of any dietary requirements in advance
- Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 10am
- Your voucher allocates you a standard room - upgrades (where available) can be made with an additional surcharge
- You will need to book your stay at least 3 days in advance, although we advise booking as early as possible due to the popularity of this venue

Beautiful location with stunning views
I bought this gift for my boyfriend for Christmas and we chose this week as it was our year anniversary. We booked it with the voucher I had and booked to have breakfast as well. We arrived and given our keys straight away. We went up to our room and although could do with a bit of a refurbishment was lovely enough. It was spacious and bright with a lovely view of the river. Water pressure was a bit low but again it was lovely soft water in comparison to our hard water. We had plenty of tea and coffee and water. Breakfast was lovely and included continental and cooked so we had so much to fill us. Staff were so lovely and we felt well looked after. Thank you Royal Lodge for a wonderful couple of days away. We will be back!

The royal Lodge was fantastic
Everyone was so helpful, even taking my booking, as I didn't have any support from buyagift, I all most gave up, until my son said to ring the hotel direct, and they were so kind and understanding. It was an amazing location and the staff were very friendly, made us very welcome, the restaurant service and food was perfect, all freshly cooked and on hot plates, we liked that they did small portions for the young and over 65's, we couldn't fault anything about the royal Lodge in symonds yat

Two nights away
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff and food was very good too although the menu is somewhat limited. Would certainly consider returning, but not via Buy a Gift. Their system for redeeming a voucher is appalling. The website is couner intuitive, I ended up buying a second voucher using the first one in order to find what I was looking for. For too much grief and took over an hour to do it, so won't bother again.

Lovely mini-break.
I’ve stayed here many times before, made possible only by my Buyagift vouchers. It’s always a pleasure and a wonderful location, on this occasion as a base to visit a poorly friend. I hope to stay there again soon. Thank you.
