Fun day with grandchildren
03 August 2022
The process of converting our voucher to tickets ahead of our visit was made very easy by the friendly staff at Didcot. We spent 5 hours in the attraction and the children enjoyed the train rides, signal box, and the small play/ picnic area even though it was only a few wooden trains ! Their imaginations were obviously activated by all they’d seen in the engine sheds etc. The main car park which the literature directs you to is spacious but a fair distance from the station. A car park is available opposite the main rail station which is much closer but did look busy.

We visited with our grandchildren aged 7 and 14 and they really enjoyed the day, including the museum and air raid shelter. Plenty of rides along the track and space to run around. Lots of interest for all ages.

Lovely little steam railway with lots to see. Kids loved it. Liked the air raid shelter with a clever audio and light simulation. Hands on signal box simulator was good too.

Train only stopped at 1 place. It went back and forth twice. You could use the train all day. But felt it wasnt worth it.
