About the experience
Step aboard a powerful Type 3 Class 37 diesel locomotive and discover the thrill of driving for four miles along the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway in Wales and the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway. After a welcome and full safety briefing, you’ll be guided by a professional train driving instructor as you take control of the engine. With no carriages attached, you’ll get to experience the locomotive running light.
What do I need to know?
- Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
- This voucher is valid for one person
- Available Monday–Sunday, year round on selected dates
- Please allow around two hours for the full experience
- Minimum age: 16 years
- Participants must be in good health – please consult your GP if unsure
- If you cannot climb from track level, boarding is possible from the platform. Wheelchairs and walking aids cannot be taken into the cab
