One Night Spa Break for Two at Greenwoods Hotel and Spa

Spa has everything you need to have a relaxing spa experience. For a Monday it was busy so we couldn’t access the relaxation rooms unfortunately, we were situated at the top of the hotel which had lots of steep stairs so it is worth being mindful of this. The attention to detail was missing in the hotel. No where to put hand towel in bathroom and no hooks for gowns or towels etc and a light or lamp for the dressing table would have been appreciated. For an upmarket establishment I would have expected a bit more. Lots of confusion with serving staff- such as they don’t serve cocktails so couldn’t do a Bloody Mary - which I don’t think actually is a cocktail. Anyway, don’t order one as it was the weirdest one I’ve ever had and tasted grim. In the morning there was confusion over breakfast and that wasn’t great. Access from the room to the spa was through the main bar which had lots of people having afternoon tea so some people may prefer to change in the spa etc as it felt a bit uncomfortable to me. The food was excellent but is £££ . However, the artisan cheese board was cheddar and Brie (they had no Stilton). This still wouldn’t have constituted an artisan cheese board in my book. So, maybe I am being a bit picky but I’ve been to better hotel spas for less. Overall it was a pleasant experience but there are other better places to go.
