Lovely gift for steam train enthusiasts

I bought this gift for my mum. She was like a child in a sweet shop. The staff at the experience were extremely knowledgeable and willing to have a chat about the steam train and history of the station. It was like going back in time. Thoroughly enjoyable for both of us.

We had a great day at the East Somerset Railway. Staff very friendly, train ride lovely & the best homemade scones and cream tea we've had in years, also at a reasonable price!

Much shorter than anticipated.
It was a pleasant experience but we were expecting to be able to get off at least one of the stops to explore. But there's nothing at the other end. It's literally a 20 min journey to the end of the line, watch the engine been moved to the back of the carriage & 20 min back. The museum & coffee shop is a nice touch.

Enjoyable day out on the East Somerset Railway. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and it was easy to arrange to redeem our gift. The museum and engine shed were interesting. Lovely lunch in the cafe.

Attended the East Somerset Railway as we are both keen steam train enthusiasts and have been to many over the years.
This is not the longest track and for some it might not be for them. It’s not the big theme park type of place.
It was busy and it was lovely to see people out in the lovely countywide enjoying themselves.
Called to see if we needed to book with the ride voucher and was told not necessary but when we arrived the volunteer on the ticket office was a bit off with us for not booking but after a lot of puffing we were issued our train tickets.
We could ride on the trains as many times as we liked and so we ended up spending the whole day there and rode on the train three times.
