Everything You Need to Know About Flying Lessons
Types of lessons available: You can book introductory trial flights (perfect for first-timers), scenic flying experiences, pilot training courses and special lessons in everything from helicopters to vintage aircraft. Whether you want a quick 30-minute blast or a full-day training course, we've got something to suit you!
Who can take flying lessons: Most of our flying lesson experiences are open to ages 12 and above. Budding pilots should be in reasonable health with no serious medical conditions that would prevent safe flying. Pregnant women and people with certain medical conditions should check with the provider beforehand. Maximum weight restrictions may apply depending on the aircraft.
Who will be teaching you: You'll be taught by our fully qualified, licensed and experienced instructors. They hold the necessary certifications from aviation authorities and are trained to the highest safety standards. Your safety is our priority, so you can relax and enjoy the experience knowing you're in expert hands.
The weather: Safety comes first, so flying lesson experiences are always weather dependent. If conditions aren't suitable on your scheduled date, you can reschedule to another date at no extra cost. Most flying experiences can be rebooked within your voucher validity period (typically 12 months).
How to become a qualified pilot: Check out our Private Pilot Licence (PPL) guide for step-by-step information on what's involved in gaining your full pilot qualification, training progression and career pathways. Start with a trial flight and see where your dreams can take you!
What Type of Aircraft Can I Fly? We offer a vast range of aircraft to fly, so whether it’s a glider lesson or a microlight flying experience, we’ll have the perfect experience for you. Perhaps ease yourself in with a flight simulator before taking to the sky in a helicopter flying lesson? Ever dreamed of experiencing history by flying in a real-life Spitfire? If so, we even have lessons in these iconic ex-military aircrafts and more. The question is, which one will you choose?
How Long Are Flying Lessons? Ranging from whirlwind 30-minute flying lessons to full-blown pilot training for the day, we've got flying lessons to suit every budget and occasion.
