Short Breaks in Devon

Stayed in Leeds Novotel. Room was really nice and emaculately clean. The restaurant and food was fantastic. Our whole stay was very enjoyable and we would love to stay there again.Location to the city centre is only a 5 minute walk. Would highly recommendx

Apart from a mix up when we booked in. We had booked one extra day! The receptionist was looking at the wrong name. We enjoyed our stay,hotel staff were all brilliant. Definitely would recommend and stay again!

Just had a lovely couple of days here. You really feel the relaxed atmosphere when you go in and Nicky and Mark the owners are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are nice, tidy and clean with all you need for a short break. The building itself is quirky and well maintained with lots of nice little touches that keep you looking out of interest, much nicer than these large sterile modern hotels. Breakfast was good and we had a great evening in the bar with Mark and some other guests, a real "must" to get the background and feeling of the place. We would happily go back to see them when the opportunity arises.

Lovely hotel with lots of history attached to it, it was the home of Stuart Sutcliffe (the '5th Beatle'). Lots of interesting memorabilia around the hotel, a must for any Beatles fan! Nice room, spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast, loads of food, all perfectly cooked. Really friendly staff. Right opposite Sefton Park, which is a beautiful place to wander around, (to walk off the breakfast!). We drove into the centre of Liverpool during the day, cost of parking varied between £10-£13, and used Uber's on the evening, £11-£12. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Liverpool.

I honestly can’t highly recommend this place enough. Me and my partner broke down on the way hear and thought we wouldn’t make it to our booking. The staff were amazing. When we arrived late the staff were so friendly. The glamping pods are just what you need very spacious and look out onto the lake. So beautiful in a morning.

Got to drive a tank, shot at other tanks and won. Even reverse parked it afterwards. What's not to like? :)

We enjoyed a great 2 nights at the Charterhouse bed and breakfast in late March 2025. Lisa welcomed us, nothing was too much trouble, She and her partner provided very tasty breakfasts and there was plenty of good quality food choices. Our room had a sea view, which was extra. The room was very well presented, and a credit to the owners. Parking was good. The Charterhouse is close to the railway station, which is handy for the steam train trips! It is a bit of a walk to the town centre and the harbour area but, not at all unpleasant especially when the weather is better than it was for us! There are many good restaurants in Torquay so the walking exercise was good. We would highly recommend and hope we can visit again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Received as a Christmas gift, lovely hotel in a lovely location.
